MUMBAI, November 12: Central Railway (CR) passengers may not have to run from pillar to post any more to claim refunds for tickets. CR authorities have successfully experimented with a scheme in which refunds are settled in a few minutes, provided all documents are in order.
To implement the `Tatkal’ scheme successfully, CR staff was trained in positive interpretation of rules and communication skills. Passengers wishing to avail of this scheme can approach the Assistant Commercial Manager (Refund and Coaching) with the cancelled ticket and claim the money. The chamber is situated on the second floor of the New Administrative Building, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. Passengers can also call on 2620600 between 10 am and 5 pm on any working day.
