PUNE, Jan 17: A necklace valued at Rs 27,000 was snatched by an unidentified person from a woman travelling in an autorickshaw on Khan road in camp area last evening.The man, aged between 25 and 27 years, was riding a motorcycle and apparently following the autorickshaw. When the autorickshaw slowed down at a speedbreaker, he snatched the necklace in a flash.

The incident occured at 4.30 pm. The complainant Arti Balasaheb Marne was proceeding to her home after visiting the flower exhibition at the Empress Garden. The Cantonment police is investigating.

Flat burgled: Thieves broke into a flat at LIG colony at Sindhunagar Pradhikaran and took away valuables and cash of Rs 31,500 last night. According to the police, the thieves entered the flat belonging to Chandrakant Dattatray Prabhu by breaking the locks with the help of a lever.A cash of Rs 23,350 kept in the safe and gold and silver ornaments were stolen. The incident came to light only this morning. The thieves also tried the same trick at an adjacent flat but failed.
