After having paralysed Parliament for a week, the NDA is likely to allow both Houses to function from tomorrow, while upping pressure on the UPA on the role of its governors. With the NDA expected to chalk out its strategy at a meeting of its top leaders here tomorrow, sources said they also want to ‘‘aggressively put across their views on the President’s address, the Railway Budget and the Union Budget’’.The BJP is not only under pressure from allies to let a discussion on the Presidential address get underway, the dominant opinion within the party is that the parliamentary forum should be utilised to corner the UPA on the ‘‘blatantly partisan’’ role of its governors.BJP parliamentary party spokesman V.K. Malhotra said: ‘‘The President has called us tomorrow. We will decide on the composition of a team tomorrow morning.’’ The NDA wants a faster trust vote and may seek protection for MLAs supporting it.BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi accused Congress chief Sonia Gandhi of ‘‘duplicity and dishonesty’’. He asked why she had not initiated corrective measures if she thought the Jharkhand Governor’s action was wrong. He also asked what role two Union ministers — Priyaranjan Dasmunsi and Subodh Kant Sahay — were playing in Ranchi if the Centre was not involved at all.Meanwhile, the blame-game over President’s Rule in Bihar continued today with the JD(U) joining chorus against LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan. ‘‘In Bihar, the fight was against the RJD and Laloo Prasad. LJP should respect the mandate given to it by the people and ensure an alternative government,’’ JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar said. The man at the centre of the storm has decided to ‘‘keep mum’’’ for at least a month. Emerging from a meeting with PM Manmohan Singh, Paswan said ‘‘a month’s time is enough for political re-alignments to take place in the state’’. ‘‘I am going to watch the developments from the fence — from my experience of 36 years I can tell that a lot of jor tor (reshuffle) would happen and then the impasse would be over,’’ he added.
