NCP ministers Padamsinh Patil (Irrigation), Vijay Gavit (General Administration) and Suresh Jain (Civil Supplies) today served legal notices on social activist Anna Hazare, seeking explanation within eight days on his allegation of corruption against them, failing which he would be sued for defamation.
Hazare had blamed Jain for irregularities in the Jalgaon district cooperative bank and corruption in Jalgaon Municipal Council. Both the bodies were dominated by Jain supporters. He had made a similar allegation against Patil for rampant corruption in the Terna Cooperative Sugar Factory run by him. Gavit has been accused of distributing funds under the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojna in his constituency without following the legal procedure.
Meanwhile, replying to a query on the defamatory notices filed against him by the ministers, the social worker reiterated that he will release all documents pertaining to their corruption, to the public, on August 9.
