NEW DELHI, JULY 31: More than 250 NCC cadets, representing all states and Union territories who attended the National Integration Camp (NIC) at Leh from 17 to 28 July have been taken by road to Kargil, Drass and Srinagar.

The local formations at these places conducted the cadets around the forward, remote and disturbed areas and also gave them a glimpse of the battlefield where last summer’s Kargil conflict was fought. The cadets were briefed on the accounts of the events of those days and met brave soldiers who have been fighting the weather, terrain and the enemy simultaneously.

Defence Minister George Fernandes gave a reception to the NCC cadets in Delhi on Monday at which he expressed happiness at the conduct of the National Integration Camp .
