The National Conference on Sunday claimed it would win at least 35 of the 87 constituencies in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls and form the next government.

“We are sure of winning in 35 seats. Now we will see (apart from 35) how many more seats we will get,” NC President Omar Abdullah said.

Abdullah said he did not foresee a hung assembly as results were yet to be declared.

“Importantly, this election was held without the fear of gun and a large number of people came out to exercise their franchise,” he said.

The NC President said, as people believe, wherever there is a large turnout, it indicated that anti-incumbency is very high there.

“By that logic, the National Conference should be the gainer,” he said.
