Aug 17: Medium-pacer Mandar Gokarna’s haul of seven wickets for 29 runs laid defending champions National low and gave MB Union victory on the first innings in Division I match on the opening day of H D Kanga League cricket tournament at the Cross Maidan today. National were bowled out for just 80. MB Union, who began badly by losing three wickets for 16, recovered through a 44-run fourth wicket stand between Tushar Shringare (18) and Kiran Manjrekar (27).

The only century maker in the first division was Amit Pagnis, who scored an unbeaten 125 in Shivaji Park Gymkhana’s total of 220 for five against MIG at the latter’s ground in Bandra.
