HYDERABAD, Jan 5: The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) charged Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu with granting favours in the proposed construction of a super highway from Begumpet airport to the Hi-Tec city at Madhapur on the city outskirts. The CLP alleged that Naidu had sanctioned Rs 35 crore for the four-lane super highway "in undue haste" so that the L&T company as well as his friends and relatives who owned hundreds of acres of land in Madhapur could reap financial gains. Meanwhile, Naidu today asked the Central Government to advise Food Corporation of India (FCI) to purchase Swarna Masuri (MTU 7029) variety of rice from the farmers of Telangana districts and treat it as Grade A in view of its good cooking quality.
