CHANDIGARH, July 23: THE Punjab Services Selection Board will now conduct the Naib Tehsildar's examination on August 9, following a Punjab and Haryana High Court directive issued today. The examination was earlier scheduled for July 26.The directive follows a writ petition filed by one of the candidates, Samar Pal Singh Mangat. In his petition, he had mentioned that the date of the Naib Tehsildar examination clashed with the Military Studies paper of the Punjab Civil Services Main Examination. The Punjab Civil Services papers in which Mangat is to appear are to be conducted at Patiala while the Naib Tehsildar examination is to be held in Chandigarh.The change of date comes after a representative of the Service Selection Board gave an undertaking before a division bench comprising Justice G.S. Singhvi and Justice Iqbal Singh today that it will postpone the examination. The Punjab Civil Services main examinations, meanwhile, will be conducted as per schedule.
