KOHIMA, JANUARY 28: Senior Congress legislator I Imkong who had earlier resigned from the Congress ministry in Nagaland due to public pressure was today re-inducted into the S C Jamir cabinet.

Two ministers of state have also been elevated to cabinet rank, official sources said.

Their portfolios have not been announced. The Chief Minister told newsmen that it was likely to be declared this evening.

Imkong who had resigned on public pressure after an incident on May 29 last year in which two youths were killed by his security guards, was earlier holding roads and bridges portfolio in the 35-member Congress ministry.

United States President Donald Trump Friday announced a new round of punishing tariffs, saying the US will impose 100% duties on imported branded drugs, 25% tariffs on heavy-duty trucks, and 50% tariffs on kitchen cabinets starting October 1.
