A UPA delegation from Jharkhand, led by JMM chief Shibu Soren, met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today and demanded the dismissal of the Arjun Munda Government. Soren also asked the Prime Minister to initiate a CBI inquiry into the alleged horse-trading ahead of the trust vote.

‘‘The recent developments in Jharkhand have challenged the well-entrenched democratic norms of our country,’’ Soren said in a memorandum. ‘‘A kind perusal of the recent sequence of happenings regarding the formation of the NDA Government in Jharkhand would reveal that blatant violation of the democratic norms, large-scale horse trading amounting to several crores of rupees coupled with misuse of state machinery was the order of the day.’’

In Dhanbad, BJP national vice-president Babulal Marandi today said there was no dispute over the expansion of the Arjun Munda government in Jharkhand and it would be done in two to three days.
