Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda arrived in Delhi today to consult with the BJP high command on tiding over the Ministry downsize without threat to his coalition government in the state.Munda, who was closetted with party president Venkaiah Naidu and general secretaries Rajnath Singh and Sanjay Joshi today, is scheduled to return to Ranchi tomorrow after finalising the composition of his new team. The BJP high command is also holding consultations with the JD(U) leadership to devise a mutually acceptable formula.Munda has already obtained the resignation of all 24 members of his team to facilitate its reconstitution. Sources said a major challenge for Munda is retention of the support of the seven-member JD(U) group. Six members of the group were ministers, while the seventh, Inder Singh Namdhari, is the Speaker. The formula under consideration by the BJP has only two representatives from the JD(U). Sources said the lucky survivors are likely to be Ram Chandra Kesari and Lalchand Mahato. The JD(U), however, could prove troublesome as the leadership has little command. The eighth JD(U) MLA was recently sacked from the Ministry after he was expelled from the party following allegations of bribery in the recent Rajya Sabha polls. The BJP, with 33 MLAs, is likely to have seven representatives in the ministry. Two Independents, Sudesh Mahato and Joba Majhi, are likely to be retained. A third independent, Madhav Singh, has been already placated with the chairmanship of a corporation. The state BJP also awaits a new president following the completion of his term by Abhay Kant Prasad and fresh organisational polls. Former minister Ravindra Rai has emerged as a front-runner for the job. Rai is known to be under the wings of former Gujarat governor Kailashpati Mishra
