VP Singh lauds PSLV

Former Prime Minister V P Singh termed the launch of the PSLV as a historic event, and congratulated Indian scientists. The launch will open new frontiers of communication and will go a long way in building our national strength, he added.

Exhibition

The annual Society Collection exhibition organised by Magna Publications will kick off on October 3 at the World Trade Centre. Over 125 participants will display a wide range of items from Tanjore paintings and furniture to designer gift-wraps. The proceeds will go to Concern India.

Inauguration

DR P C Alexander, Governor of Maharashtra, will inaugurate a new Ramakrishna Bajaj CFBP Consumer Education and Testing Centre at SNDT Women’s University, Juhu, on October 4. The centre will carry out chemical and microbiological analyses of food samples from the local market, consumers and industries.

Music function

A musical programme Pandit Ram Marathe Smruti Din has been organised on October 12 at 4.30 pm at G A Kulkarni Primary School Hall, Khar (w). Participants include Sham Gogate, Vijay Sanzgiri, Vijay Ketkar, Dilip Gaitonde, Arti Hawaldar and Dr Meenakshi Kher. The programme is open to all.
