The state government has so far initiated action against 32 college teachers from the city as part of its drive to curb illegal nexus of professors and coaching classes. Minister of State for Education Anil Deshmukh said of the junior and senior college teachers teaching in private coaching classes, nine have resigned, seven have accepted voluntary retirement and salaries of 16 have been stopped.
