Mumbai, Nov 2: Pune will meet Mumbai A in the final (40 overs) of the Samna Shield cricket tournament for under-14 on Wednesday at the MIG ground (Bandra).

Pune defeated Mumbai B by 82 runs at the Shivaji Park Gymkhana, while Mumbai A beat Nashik by four wickets at MIG today.

Pune, after being put in to bat, scored 227 for six in the allotted 40 overs, thanks to opener Aditya Sharma, who scored 87 with the help of seven fours in 113 balls. He was involved in a 90-run partnership for the second wicket with Chetan Suryavanshi (41: 44b, 4×4). After the exit of these two, Amit Medankar chipped in with 32 of 18 balls with three fours.

Mumbai B were tottering at 45 for five. However, there was a recovery when the fifth-wicket pair of Sudhanshu Mishra (25) and Sunny Rathod (24) added 49 runs. Thereafter, Mumbai B lost their way and were bowled out for 145. Off-spinner Sachin Bhavsar was the most successful bowler with three for 24.

In the other match of the same competition, Mumbai A did well to restrictNashik 141. The fifth-wicket stand between No 3 Abhijit Gujral (46: 86b, 5×4) and Abhhishek Ghule (19: 2×4) was the only bright spot of the Nashik innings. There were five run-outs, while no bowler took more than one wicket.

In reply, Mumbai A began badly, losing three wickets for 14 runs. However, the fourth-wicket pair of left-hander Hiken Shah (47: 86b, 3×4) and Karim Zindani (35: 60b, 3×4) put them on the victory path. Salil Agharkar, who caused the early dent, was the most successful bowler with two wickets for 27.
