BAHRAICH (UP), January 8: Samajwadi party president and Defence Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today said he would be in the race for prime minister-ship if his party managed to secure 70 seats in the coming Lok Sabha election.Addressing a public meeting here, he said there was no political crisis in the country and if there was any crisis it was for the corrupt politicians.Describing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as communal, he said this party was busy in politicising the Kashi, Mathura and Ayodhya issues to win votes. He alleged that a handful capitalists of the country who enjoyed the facilities and leisure of life in the day of the British rule were today the main financier of the BJP in its campaign. Yadav said the golden jubilee of Independence would have a meaning only when poverty, caste and communcal discrimination illiteracy and unemployment were removed from the country.
