MUMBAI, September 15: Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) Union has threatened to launch an indefinite strike from October 12, 1998 if the State government fails to fulfil its demands.
Union President Sharad Rao said today that compared to municipal, BEST, Port Trust employees, MSEB workers were lagging way behind with regard to their wages, pension, up-gradation, bonus, allowances, among others.
“The union leaders of other services stage-managed a negotiation after calling for a make-believe strike. They surrendered the right of employment to the employee’s children by introducing contributory system of a small payment in return for a raise in conveyance allowance, ” Rao stated .
