The United States of America has said there is still a lot to be done by both India and Pakistan for improving the relationship between them.

Replying to media queries on the possible impact of the serial bomb blast in New Delhi on Diwali eve on the ongoing peace process in the region, the White House spokesman, Scott McClellan said: ‘‘There is certainly a lot to still be addressed and everybody has a responsibility to do their part to crack down on terrorism’’.

McClellan said the US encouraged both India and Pakistan to have an ongoing dialogue and to work in consultation and cooperation.

‘‘I think that is what both leaders have been committed to doing recently,’’ he said. Referring to the Delhi blast that killed 59 people, the spokesman said the US always stands ‘‘committed to doing everything we can to help’’ bring people to justice for carrying out such attacks.

‘‘They are heinous terrorist attacks and our thoughts are with the families of the victims,’’ he said. ‘‘There are a number of people that were killed, there are a number of people that were wounded in those attacks. We always stand committed to doing everything we can to help bring people to justice for carrying out such attacks,’’ McClellan said.
