PUNE, Nov 9: Electioneering has reached fever pitch for the legislative council seat from Pune district with both candidates Ramkrishna More of the Congress-RPI alliance and Shrikant Shirole of Pune Vikas Aghadi lobbying hard to secure the votes of the elected members of the local self-government bodies.
The voting will be held on November 13. Both More and Shirole today visited the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to meet the corporators and discuss the election strategies. Both the candidates arrived at the main building almost at the same time and hoped to meet the maximum number of corporators after the scheduled civic general body meeting.
Hectic parleys took place on the third floor of the civic administrative building amidst a large number of supporters of both the candidates. Pune Mayor Vatsala Andekar and other office-bearers accompanied Shirole, while More was accompanied by PCMC Mayor Hanumanth Bhosale, Congress party leader Nana Shitole and other corporators.
More and Shirole met at the office of the Mayor and exchanged pleasantries.
