It was over a month ago that National Conference (NC) president Omar Abdullah, after being humbled in the elections, stepped down as Minister of State for External Affairs. But there is still no word from the Prime Minister’s Office on his resignation.
Omar’s nameplate is intact on one of those ornate doors at the end of a long corridor in South Block. He has since then shifted his base to Kashmir, visits wife Payal and the two school-going sons on weekends in Delhi but has never visited office, sources said.
The NC chief, sources said, is uncomfortable with the uncertainty about his resignation.
