Mizo poll percentage rises to 78.78 pc

With the arrival of polling parties from eight district headquarters on Thursday, the poll percentage of December-2 polling in ‘Mizoram rose from 72 per cent to 78.78 per cent, state Chief Electoral Officer lalmalsawma said in Aizawl.

Lalmalsawma told PTI that except for two polling parties in the remotest areas in lawngtlai district, all the polling parties reached their respective district headquarters.

“The poll turnout may increase a little if we receive the full reports from lawngtlai, but the difference would be negligible,” he said.

All the EVMs are kept in the strong rooms under heavy security in the eight district headquarters where counting would be held on December 8.
