A 15-year-old girl was allegedly molested by two policemen as two others held her friend hostage in Rakh Bagh here late on Friday evening. The park where the crime was perpetrated is surrounded by the residences of senior district officials, including the Deputy Commissioner (DC), and many judicial and administrative officials. The girl, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, was staying with her relatives at Shahi Mohalla.In her statement to the police, the victim said she had come to Rakh Bagh with her friend Sunny Verma at about 6.30 pm. She said that while she and her friend were sitting in the park, four policemen came to them. She said that while two policemen took her friend with them, the other two, one of whom was in uniform, said they wanted to question her. The girl alleged that the duo then took her to an isolated part of the park and raped her. After about an hour, the duo left her at the spot from where she was picked up. Soon after, some people who were walking in the park, took the girl and her friend to the residence of Deputy Commissioner Sumer Singh Gurjar. When the girl narrated the episode to the DC, he immediately called up Senior Superintendent of Police RK Jaiswal.SSP rushed Superintendent of Police (SP) City I Ashish Chaudhary to the DC’s residence to look into the matter. The DC asked the police to immediately conduct an inquiry and take strict action against the guilty persons. SP Chaudhary said he would personally look into this matter.The victim was sent to the Civil Hospital for medical examination. Till the filing of this report, no FIR had been registered.
