CHANDIGARH, Sept 9: More than 20 physical education teachers will be attending the one-day Minkey hockey clinic which will be organised on September 13, at the SD Public School premises in Sector 32. The clinic is being organised by Active Sports as part of the junior sports development programme in the city. Earlier, active sports had organised Mini basketball tournament.

Minkey hockey is a modified version of hockey and is very popular in Australia. Minkey hockey is played on basketball court or any hard surface to develop skill of the children.

The clinic will be suprevised by Nadine Richards who was the technical official of the women’s national league in Austriala.

Hockey trials today
Trials to select the Chandigarh team for the forthcoming 31st Junior National Women’s hockey championship to be held at Mumbai from September 22 to 30, will be held tomorrow at 5,30 p.m., at the Sector 42 Hockey Stadium.

SBI b’ball trials
Trials to select the State Bank of India, Chandigarh Circle basketball team, for participation in the All India State bank of India Inter-Circle basketball tournament, tschedulled to o be held at Mysore (Karnataka) in the third week of September, will be organised on September 12 at the Sports Complex, Sector 7, at 10 a.m. Interested should report on time.
