PATIALA, Sept 28: The striking ministerial employees here have decided to further intensify their agitation ignoring the state government’s letter regarding imposing of "no work no pay rule".

Under the new programme, the striking employees will block the traffic on main roads for two hours tomorrow and on September 30 the employees will burn the effigies of the state government. This was stated in a press release issued here today by the Punjab State Ministerial Services Union.

The release claimed that the striking employees today burnt the photocopies of the government letter of "no work no pay rule" while organising the protest dharnas-cum-rallies in front of the offices of district treasury, Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner, Health Department, PWD, irrigation, Pollution Control Board, Sewerage Board, Excise and Taxation, and Animal Husbandry.

Ludhiana: Undeterred by state government’s threat, the ministerial staff continued its strike on the 14th day here today. Normal working in almost all government offices remained disrupted.

Addressing a rally , district president of the Punjab State Ministerial Services Union Hatrwant Singh Mangat, Nachhatar Singh, Sukhwant Singh and other speakers rejected the government notification on 8-16-24-32 years time scale and described it as a cruel joke. The union activists made it clear that till the demands were conceded, the agitation would continue.

Kharar: Following the implementation of `no work no pay’ theory by the Punjab government, the striking ministerial staff in Punjab government offices it today intensified their stir and blocked the vehioular traffic at several places.

In the district, apart from holding protest dharnas and rallies in front of the government offices. Simultaneously, on a call given by the Punjab State Ministerial services Union, the pen down strike by the ministerial staff entered its fourteenth (14th) day in the entire district today in support of its demands.
