PUNE, NOV 14: Accusing minister of state for Agriculture Harshavardhan Patil, of creating terror in several villages of his Indapur taluka, leader of Patit Pawan Sanghatana, Nitin Sontakke, today urged Governor Dr P C Alexander to take action against the minister.

Addressing a press conference here, Sontakke and Sanghatana vice-president and former municipal council chief in Indapur, Pradeep Garatkar, alleged that Patil and his supporters threatened police constable D S Pansare two days back for not cooperating with them in the investigation of a case.

Sontakke said the minister even asked his supporters to beat the police constable on the streets if “he did not fall in the line.”

Sontakke said Pansare had written a letter to the police officials explaining them the incident and requesting his transfer from Bawda, the minister’s native village.

Recalling that Patil’s supporters had attacked Indapur police station about two years back, Sontakke said tension had gripped several villages in Indapur taluka as a result of Patil supporters’ terror tactics.
