AHMEDNAGAR, Jan 15: A joint passing out parade of 339 Mechanised Infantry and Army Corps (MIAC) recruits was held in an impressive ceremony at the Mechanised Infantry Regimenal Centre today. A chilly winter morning heralded the `kasam parade’ as each recruit took an oath.

The first salute was taken by Maj. Limboo, the second to Col. Acchappa, while the final salute was reserved for the chief guest of the function Brig. K. Srinivasan, commandant, MIRC. In his address, he said the army was proud to groom responsible soilders.

The recruits graduated from basic military training to technical skills. Four silver medals were awarded to recruits Kumar Kamlesh, Santosh, Hema Ram and Mahindra Singh respectively. The commandant’s gold medal for the best recruit was awarded to Santosh Kumar.
