‘Mercedes sales not affected by global meltdown’

While most companies are facing the flak of the global meltdown, Mercedes Benz India officials in Kolkata on Saturday claimed that Mercedes car sales in India had not been affected by the economic tsunami.

While most companies are facing the flak of the global meltdown, Mercedes Benz India officials in Kolkata on Saturday claimed that Mercedes car sales in India had not been affected by the economic tsunami.

“It has been a very good year for us. Last year we sold 2,491 cars all over the country and this year till October we have sold 3,141 cars,” said Sanjiv Sahajwala, director, sales and marketing, Mercedes Benz India. He claimed that compared to last year the company has already seen a growth of more than 46 per cent. The company was in the city as part of its Discover your star initiative where all the models available in India were showcased.
