Mercator Q2 net up Rs 31.64 cr

Private shipping major Mercator Lines Ltd (MLL) has posted a quantum leap in net profit at Rs 31.64 crore during the second quarter ended September 30, 2004, compared with Rs 8.41 crore recorded for the same period of the previous fiscal.

The shipping company’s income from operations has risen to Rs 124.91 crore in reporting quarter, as against Rs 53.18 crore registered in the same period of previous fiscal, MLL said in a release here today. For the six-month period ended September 30, MLL’s income from operations rose to Rs 221.95 crore (from Rs 73.72 crore) and net profit was up at Rs 52.29 crore from Rs 11.20 crore posted during the second quarter a year ago, it said. — Agencies
