On the occasion of Datta Jayanti on December 12, a programme of keertan and bhajan was organised at Ghanekar Datta Mandir, Tathawade. Rucha Ghanekar recited the keertans while Nrusimha Bhajani Mandal sang the bhajans.

Saptswarotsav
ACP Rajendra Sonavane rewarded reporters and camerapersons of the various news channels who risked their lives and covered the 26/11terror attack at the inaugural function of Saptswarotsav organised by Srimati Laxmibai Dagdudheth Halwai Datta Mandir Trust. The function was organised on the occasion of Datta Jayanti. Sonavane and State Information Commissioner, Vijay Kuvalekar inaugurated the programme.

Baya Karve Awards
Maharshi Karve women education society had organised the Baya Karve Award function at Cummins College of engineering on December 12. The award presented to women for their remarkable work in the field of education and social work was given to Meena Inamdar this year.

Tribute to victims
A prayer meeting was organised by Preet Mandir on November 29 to pay tribute to the brave police officers and innocent people who were killed in recent Mumbai terror attacks. Religious preachers Rev D K Phatak of St Mary’s Church, Bhai Satnam Singh of Hollywood Gurudwara and Gangadhar Dave Pandit addressed the meeting conveying the message of unity. The trustees of Preet Mandir, members of Shri Ayyappa Dharma Parishad and the orphan children observed silence to pay tribute.
