GANDHINAGAR, March 17: A deputy superintendent of police of Mehsana has been suspended for ``misbehaviour'' with a woman constable, Minister of State for Home Haren Pandya told the State Assembly today.Replying to a call attention motion of Congress Chief Whip Naresh Rawal and three others, Pandya said action had been taken on the basis of a preliminary inquiry although the woman had refused to lodge a complaint.Pandya said that the constable, who belonged to Patan, was on duty at the State Assembly on March 8. After duty, the DySP, who was in charge of the bandobast, offered her lift for Mehsana. But when she got into the vehicle, the DySP said he would first be going to Ahmedabad.The woman became suspicious, got down from the vehicle and decided to take a bus. She met two other constables who also wanted to go to Patan by bus. Soon, the DySP came back, said he was not going to Ahmedabad, and offered all the three lift to Mehsana.After the three got into the vehicle, the DySP again said he would first go to Ahmedabad. The constables then got down. After reaching Mehsana, the woman told her father about the incident and he complained to senior police officers.
