In the backdrop of the Steve Bucknor controversy, International Cricket Council (ICC) president Ehsan Mani today said that the ICC had devised ways to scrutinise the standard of umpires given the kind of controversy over several umpires in the ICC Elite Panel.

Mani said that it had now become mandatory for all Elite Panel umpires to undergo medical check-up once a year. He added the the ICC scrutinised all umpiring decisions to explore if an umpire has any specific problem. The scrutiny was done by viewing cds of various matches and the feedback was given to the umpires for correction.
