Now Government servants will have one excuse less for not turning up for work, at least not for medical reasons with a hospital group deciding to offer its services at the office door.

In an initiative to raise awareness about heart ailments, Escorts Heart Institute and Research Center is organising health camps at all government offices. One such camp was organised at Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi on Wednesday.

“This is to make people aware that negligence towards your heart can lead to serious trouble. A small check up could enhance the life of your heart and help it perform in a better manner,” Dr Suman Bhandari, Senior Consultant at Escorts, said.

Experts at the camp explained that in the face of growing competition and a hectic lifestyle people have to cope up with the pressures of work and health takes a backseat. There is thus a resultant increase in the number of cases of high blood pressure and minor heart ailments.

The heart institute has also organised such camps in villages where experts conducted basic tests to diagnose diseases.

“People in small villages and cities travel to metropolitan cities in order to get basic health check ups done. With our initiative we provide these services at their doorstep,” he added.
