India on Wednesday lodged a protest with the Pakistan Government against the incident of unidentified persons breaking into the house of Indian High Commissioner Satyabrata Pal in Islamabad two days ago. The break-in occurred during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. The Ministry of External Affairs summoned Pakistan’s Deputy High Commissioner Afrasiab here and lodged a “strong protest”, official sources said. A similar protest was lodged in Islamabad by the Indian High Commission. Pakistan has assured that the matter will be looked into, they said.“The Residence of the High Commissioner of India in Islamabad was broken into on the night of November 12. A strong protest has been lodged with the Government of Pakistan in Islamabad and with the High Commission of Pakistan in New Delhi,” said a release issued by the MEA.
