MEA steps up war of words with Pakistan

Today’s statement talks about how the Pakistani leadership was "recently…advised against escalating the undeclared war in J&K" and addresses recent allegations by Pakistan.

The charges were made recently by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Gohar Ayub Khan, accusing New Delhi of fomenting violence and terrorism in his country. Khan is expected to launch a similar campaign at the United Nations convention in Geneva on March 19.

Pakistan’s "official agencies undertake terrorist actsdirectly and through harbouring, aiding and abetting fundamentalist groups who are provided sanctuary and operate from Pakistani territory," the statement said.

It came within two days of New Delhi expelling a Pakistani diplomat and hours after an Indian visa attache was thrown out by Islamabad. "These attempts cannot succeed for Pakistan already stands exposed as a terrorist state," the statement said. "We have conclusive evidence of the involvement of the ISI in bombings in various parts of India over the years…The serious and endemic and ethnic and sectarian violence with which Pakistan itself is beset is the consequence of the encouragement which the Pakistan state has provided to fundamentalist and terrorist groups," it added.
