Seven people were killed in an MCC strike at Madhuban town in East Champaran today. The nearly two-dozen Naxal squad was locked in a gunbattle with the police as reports last came in.
Around 1.30 pm, the gang including six women came in a jeep and motorbikes. They attacked the block and anchal offices and ransacked the house of RJD MP Sitaram Singh and the targeted local mukhiya Sitaram Singh. Property worth Rs 4 lakh was looted from Singh’s house.
The Naxalites then broke into two banks after killing the guard and took away Rs 4 lakh and a computer. Naser Hussain, a guard at the anchal office, was killed. They then targetted the thana. The mayhem continued for almost two hours before reinforcement arrived from district headquarters and took on the Naxalites.
