NAGPUR, FEB 22: The students of First Year MBBS of Nagpur University, who appeared for the 1999 winter examinations, have threatened to fast unto death if their demand of mass revaluation of the Anatomy theory paper, in which only 18 of 76 students have passed, is not fulfilled. A delegation of the students met Vice-Chancellor Dr Arun Satputaley on Monday and submitted a memorandum of demands to him. The V-C has assured the students that he would look into the matter and take a decision by February 28. The students have alleged that the University has deliberately attempted to fail the maximum number of students. Only 18 of the 76 who appeared for the examination have passed. All the rest have failed in the Anatomy theory paper. A press release by the students mentioned that very few students failed in the other subjects, including Biochemistry and Physiology theory. They have demanded revaluation of the papers of all the students who have failed. They have further demanded to settle the issue of limitations on the number of attempts to clear First Year MBBS examination, besides considering practical and theory papers of each subject as combination for passing the students.Ø The students have threatened a fast-unto-death agitation if their demands are not met. BAMS STUDENTS DEMAND:Meanwhile, another delegation of the final BAMS students met the V-C and demanded early declaration of results of the winter 1999 examinations.
