Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Saturday made several announcements for women uplift, which included establishment of women police stations in each district and women old age homes in each division. She also announced establishment of a Women Protection and Exploitation Control Cell.She was speaking at a function organised by the State Commisison for Women here to mark the World Women’s Day.The BSP chief assured the Commission that the state Governmnet would consider its demands and at the same time reminded the audience that it was her Government that constituted the State Panel for Women in the state for the first time in 2002. Recalling the contribution of BSP founder Kanshi Ram in encouraging women to move forward, Mayawati presented herself as a living example of the same. Lauding the work of the Commission, Mayawati said her Government would consider the construction of toilets in 90,000 primary and upper primary schools. She said a survey would be done for building women toilet complexes in rural areas.
