India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL) today announced a price increase varying between Rs 1,500 to 15,000 on all its models. The hike which comes into effect from today, is the second in three months. The company had earlier increased prices in October 2005 when increase in freight and input costs following rise in oil prices had forced the company to pass on a part of the increase to customers.
Following this hike all the variants of M800 and Alto will be dearer by Rs 3,000 while its top end Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Grand Vitara will cost Rs 15,000 more.
