PATIALA, Nov 24: Thousands of devotees today thronged the Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib here on the occasion of the martyrdom day of Guru Teg Bahadur, the ninth Sikh guru. The devotees took a dip in the holy sarovar and paid obeisance at the gurdwara.On this occasion akhand path and special prayer meetings were held. The langar (community kitchens) were also organised throughout the district. According to the reports received from Nabha, Samana and Rajpura towns there was a rush of devotees at the historic gurdwara of Bahadurgarh and Moti Bagh New Singh Sabha, Tharah Sahi and Nabha Shib.Moga: Large number of devotes thronged the gurdwaras and attended akhand path bhog ceremonies in Muktsar, Faridkot and Moga districts to mark the martyrdom day of Guru Teg Bahadur. The speakers talked about the life and teachings of the Guru. Nagar Kirtan procession were also taken out in Moga, Faridkot and Muktsar yesterday.Gurdaspur: The martyrdom day of Guru teg Bhadur was observed with religious fervour at Gurdwara Thehwala here today. Hundreds of people visited the gurdwara to pay obeisance. A langar was also organised on the occasion.
