BJP president L.K. Advani on Saturday criticised the UPA for converting the 75th anniversary of the Dandi March into ‘‘a purely Congress affair’’.‘‘Propriety and respect for democracy demanded that it should have been a national celebration, with the participation of all political parties,’’ Advani said, in a statement issued from Ranchi. ‘‘Worse still, the occasion has been misused for the exclusive projection of the Congress president.’’ He added that the PM should have called an all-party meeting to ensure participation. He also objected to the Modi government being left out.
