Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would address three public meetings in the state on Saturday during his first ever poll campaign for the October 13 Assembly polls.
Singh would reach Aurangabad in the morning and fly to Dhule of North Maharashtra, where he is scheduled to address his first public meeting at 11 am, party sources said.
From Dhule, he would proceed to Akola in Vidarbha to address another public meeting at 1.30 pm. Singh would then leave for Nanded district to address his last meeting of the day at 3.45 pm, they added.
Due to strict EC norms, no party leaderor functionary will accompany the PM during the tour. CM Sushilkumar Shinde, MPCC chief Prabha Rau and senior leaders of the party, however, are expected to remain present, they said. —(PTI)
