The RSS high command is all set to hand over the responsibility of Sangh-BJP coordination to ideologue and former spokesman M G Vaidya, reliable sources told The Indian Express. The decision will be announced soon, the sources said.
Vaidya has been highly critical of Advani’s Jinnah remarks, attacking him in an article in the pro-RSS daily Tarun Bharat. It remains to be seen how he functions as a pointman between the party and the Sangh.
‘‘It’s clear now that the RSS is in no mood for ideological deviations. The RSS will take decisions at its Surat conclave and ask the BJP not to stray too far,’’ the sources said.
Vaidya has been against any dilution of the basic RSS ideology. Writing in Tarun Bharat, he described Jinnah as the man who partitioned India and said it was wrong on Advani’s part to call him secular.
He also had a direct swipe at the BJP chief, saying Advani may not find the RSS concept of Akhand Bharat feasible but the RSS believes that it is still possible.
