‘Parul’s body was recovered from the bedroom of their house in Manhar Society, near the Rajkot Marketing Yard. She was thrice hit on her head with an iron rod’
The Rajkot police have arrested a man for killing his wife. Raghav Parmar (58), surrendered to the police and claimed to have killed his wife, Parul as she was involved in a relationship with another man.
He said he killed Parul after the couple quarrelled over her extra-marital
relationship.
The police said that on Friday morning, Parmar killed Parul with an iron rod and left the body in a pool of blood. He then put on new clothes and threw his blood-stained dress into the washing machine. He locked the house and went to the office of the Commissioner of Police to own up his crime. When he did not find the commissioner, he went to Masoom School, where his two sons are studying. He was worried that they would be shocked to see their mother lying dead at home. He gave them Rs 100 to buy lunch before coming back to the Commissioner’s office to surrender.
“Parul’s body was recovered from the bedroom of their house in Manhar Society, near the Rajkot Marketing Yard. She was thrice hit on the head with an iron rod,” the police said. The police have arrested Parmar and booked him for murder.
The police said that on Friday morning, Parul asked her husband for some money. But Parmar, according to the police complaint, learnt that his wife had given a sum of Rs 34,000 to her paramour. When he confronted his wife, she answered in the affirmative. He then hit her with an iron rod on the head. An injured Parul threatened Parmar that her paramour would avenge her. The threat was enough for Parmar to strike her twice more.
The police said Parul, who belonged to Paddhari, had married Parmar 24 years ago. The police further said that the couple had come into contact with each other through the man with whom Parul was allegedly having an affair.
