CALCUTTA, Aug 4: Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Youth Congress chief, today filed an application with the Calcutta High Court, following a judgement by a Division Bench on July 31 in the Personal Ledger Accounts Case.Last month, the Bench had rejected the petioner's plea praying for a probe by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) into the `alleged bungling in central development funds by transferring them into numerous Personal Ledger Accounts (PLA) by the Left Front Government.' However, the court had given liberty to the Writ petitioner to make an application for interim order praying for an inquiry and submission of the report to the court.Mamata filed the application in the Division Bench of Justices S B Sinha and S Narayan, requesting the court that the petioner be given liberty to inspect the PLA alongwith a chartered accountant and at such places as may be selected by the `honourable court.' Application also requested the court to direct the Central Bureau of Investigation to investigate into the PLA case and the spending of money for the purposes other than for which the funds were allotted.
