Pre-party primping After a long day of work, I need to relax a bit before I start partying. I put on some music and practise yoga. I make it a point to take a nice shower with my favourite product, Chai Latte Soul and Body Wash, by Philip B. It really wakes me up and gets me going. I always feel great when I use my beauty products. If it’s a big party, I plan my outfit the previous day. It gives me a chance to wear something I’ve designed.
Festive bingeing When I’m at a party, I go all out. I’ll eat anything except meat or chicken. I eat desserts as well; I know I should stop, but when I’m partying, I make sure I have a blast.
I’m a wine drinker and at social gatherings, I do have quite a few glasses. When I feel I’m getting a little tipsy, I switch to spritzers (wine with soda). They taste great and last much longer. And I make it a point to down a glass of water after every two glasses of wine.
Back home I’ve never really been so tired after a party that I’ve passed out with my make-up on. I always make it a point to take off my paint and moisturise. The next step in my detox routine is two to three glasses of water.
The morning after Nothing can cure a hangover. But I find lavender detoxifying and soothing. I get into the shower and use a lavender soap or my Philip B body wash. I try and stay away from caffeine and drink some fresh juice instead.
There’s on old tradition in England—after a night of partying and bingeing, they have a fry-up the next morning. Eating greasy sausages and eggs really helps, as the oil absorbs the alcohol. But this is a temporary solution, it doesn’t work for too long. Other surefire remedies—doing yoga and focussing on work.
I’m working in Goa for most of the party season, and there I have access to the greatest healer—the ocean. Swimming really cleanses and detoxes the body.
Positive healing When I’m in Delhi, I go to Spa Zeita for a massage. A healing reiki massage, concentrating on the pressure points and using a stress-reducing oil is a great pick-me-up.
