MUMBAI, FEB 27: It was day of firsts in the $ 10,000 American Express ITF Women's Circuit at the Cooperage Tennis Centre today.Julia Adlbrecht of Austria and Qin Yang of China entered their first-ever WTA final while Swiss girl Diane Asensio lost in the first semi-final appearance of her two-year professional career.Austrian Adlbrecht defeated Asensio 7-6 (7-1), 3-6, 6-1 while Yang (China) scored a quick one hour 6-1, 6-3 win over country-mate Rong Liu Zhi.The 18-year-old Asensio served eight double faults and faltered at big points against Adlbrecht who said later that her opponent lacked in self confidence.``She was afraid to attack when she was leading and made too many mistakes,'' said the 20-year-old Austrian, who admitted that she too had lacked in self belief till June last year when she picked up her racquet again after hanging it up.``I was afraid of losing and did not play for five years,'' said Adlbrecht, who added that she has since become mentally stronger and could still getbetter.Asensio was up 5-2 and serving for the first set when she dropped serve. And again, serving at 5-4, she dropped a set point to give Adlbrecht the game and the break. In the tie-break, Adlbrecht won five successive points to take the first set.``Whenever I win the first set, I can't concentrate in the second,'' said the Austrian, who plays better on clay but likes hardcourts because she can ``play fast''.And true to style, she lost the next set after losing serve twice. But Adlbrecht, ranked 18 in her country, wrapped up the third in 22 minutes and the match in an hour and half to move into the title clash.``I served very poorly and I was very tired because I played in the doubles also yesterday,'' said Swiss girl, who is ranked nine in her country.YANG IN LINE FOR DOUBLE: Qin Yang played her ``normal game'' to make it to her first final and later won the doubles title with partner Jing Jing Chen. The left-handed Rong Liu Zhi's serve played truant at crucial points in the finalwhich she lost in an hour after never appearing to be in the match.Yang, ranked 15 in China, started playing competitively only since October last year. But the 18-year-old, speaking through country-mate Ding Ding, sounded confident of the final tomorrow against Adlbrecht. And all that Adlbrecht wanted to do tonight was sleep well, something she has not been able to do for the past few nights. Results (Seedings in prefix)Singles (qf): 684-Julia Adlbrecht (Aut) bt 749-Diane Asensio (Sui) 7-6 (7-1) 3-6 6-1; 696-Qin Yang (Chn) bt Rong Liu Zhi (Chn) 6-1 6-3Doubles (final): Jing Jing Chen/ Qin Yang (China) bt Yoriko Yamagishi/ Nami Urabe (Japan) 7-6 (7-5) 6-2
