Narmada Bachao Andolan leader Medha Patkar ended her dharna on Wednesday after the Maharashtra Government promised to relax some requirements for those affected by the Sardar Sarovar project to seek relief.

The government will now put together a final list of families who will be displaced by the Sardar Sarovar project within 45 days. After a meeting held between Patkar and Rehabilitation Minister Patangrao Kadam, it was announced that rehabilitation of the Project Affected People (PAP) in the state will be supervised by an additional collector in Nandurbar district, who will have 10 more officials at his disposal.
