The death toll in the recent monsoon fury in Maharashtra has risen to 94 with the recovery of four more bodies. The financial loss is estimated at Rs 149.21 crore.Principal Secy (Relief and Rehabilitation) Suresh Joshi said roads, bridges, commercial and public institutions have been affected.In Thane district, rains claimed 61 lives and damaged property worth Rs 250 crore, Regional commissioner Konkan region N. Ramrao said. Chahal said compensation of Rs 50,000 has already been handed over to the kin of 51 dead. ‘‘Nearly 2,016 other flood-affected people have been given Rs 600 each.’’
