Lucknow SSP Kamal Saksena and SSP (STF) Anil Aggrawal were posted at the palatial Aliganj house of the family till late night for investigation. Four-year-old Revan Gupta, who studies in Jaipuria School, was kidnapped outside the house of his tuition teacher in Mahanagar around 6.30 pm. Revan and his cousin Rakshit used to take tuitions everyday and the latter’s mother, Lalita, used to pick them up, Revan’s father Raunal Gupta said. Gupta owns Raj Jewellers, with outlets in Hazratganj and Mahanagar.‘‘Today, as Lalita went to pick up the children, the culprits had been waiting in a car outside the house for long,’’ SSP Kamal Saksena said. ‘‘The children ran out towards the car. The moment they stepped out of the gate, the kidnappers bundled Revan in the car and pushed away Rakshit.’’
