New Delhi, July 10: The Lok Sabha will apply guillotine on discussion on budgetary demands for grants of various ministries at 1800 hours on July 14.
This was decided at a meeting of the business advisory committee (BAC) convened by Speaker G M C Balayogi today. Conveying the BAC decision to the house, Laxmi Narayan Pandey, who was in the chair, said the Finance Bill would be taken up for discussion on July 15 as it would have to be passed by July 17.
The House will take up discussion and voting on demands for grants of the agriculture ministry on July 13.
This will be followed by discussion and voting on demands for grants of the External Affairs Ministry on July 14. Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee is expected to reply to the discussion relating to the external affairs ministry at 1700 hours on Tuesday.
There will be no zero hour in the Lok Sabha on July 13 and 14 and the lunch break will be done away with till the passage of the Finance Bill, Pandey told the House. The House will sit till 2000hours everyday till completion of financial business.
BAC has apparently decided against taking up for discussion demands for grants of the Defence Ministry although it was listed in today’s revised business for the Lok Sabha.
